Writers: Guns, horses, getting them wrong in your stories
As this evenings work is done, time for my real work: The book “33 Worst Mistakes Writers Make about Firearms” - I finally got it finished and Holly Lisle had it out in her HollyShop at the beginning of this week. Amazing how she gets things done, and I’m ever grateful for the opportunity of participating in this series. Mistakes writers make about… “Horses” by Sue L . Huffman was the first to be available . I’ve just downloaded a copy and it is really good. I’ll have a lot more to say about it later, meanwhile here it is:
The 33 Worst Mistakes Writers Make About Horses, by Sue L. Huffman.
It’s easy to see how these short books (the series will go on) can be useful on any writers desk: Sooner or later some scene will crop up where a description can go very wrong - or a lot of time would have to go into research. Information is available in huge amounts; a modern writers task is more one of filtering than finding. This way, with these books, much of the filtering has already been done.
